We are trying to endow our scholarship fund, but this takes donations. If you are inclined to donate, you may do so on the Staff Council fundraising page.
DailyPay – Stephanie Vieira
Stephanie from DailyPay presented an overview of the service, highlighting its financial wellness features, fee structures, and benefits, including instant transfers, a Visa card option, and financial counseling. She clarified the process of how DailyPay interacts with payroll systems and emphasized the importance of managing direct deposit settings within the DailyPay account.
DailyPay allows you to access your pay before payday. There may be fees, depending on how quickly you need to access the funds.

Staff Ombuds Services – Noel Fuller
Staff Council was instrumental in getting a separate Ombuds from the faculty representative about four years ago.
Confidential services to discuss questions or concerns via in-person, Zoom, phone, or email, but the position is still a mandatory reporter. Contact by email staffombuds@txstate.edu or Staff Ombuds Services.
Noel tracks overall contacts or themes, but not individual identifying information, and provides recommendations to leadership based on these trends.
New Employee Parking – Danielle Waddell
Full-time, benefits-eligible new employees can log in and purchase their permit before their first day (as soon as PCR is initiated and routed for first approval). HR will no longer issue temporary parking permits.
This does not apply to Graduate Assistants, part-time, and NSNR.
A User Guide is included in the welcome letter.

Tuesday, January 13, Staff Council will have Zoom general meeting, then in the afternoon we will have an in-person, come-and-go event to talk to Staff Council “Cookies & Punch After Lunch” from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Location TBD (San Marcos).
Round Rock event possibly later in Spring.

Committee is collecting data on benefits and compensation options to enhance Texas State's employer status and staff morale.
Reviewed five UPPS since mid-October; have an additional five by mid-December.

Safe Rides – averaging 2,000/week
Will be adding a wheelchair accessible van; currently do have a wheelchair accessible golf cart.
Still pending the parking services report.
There is a proposed one-time amnesty discount event for paying parking fees to get holds lifted.
Holiday break services will be available: bike and scooter storage; package services.
Campus Safety Walk – 102 concerns on SM, 6 at Round Rock; additional lighting will be reviewed in Spring.
January – TXST will receive two new therapy dogs!
