Item 2: The Graduate College - Austin Allen, Recruiting Coordinator

Find the program advisor to learn more about a specific graduate program, see deadlines, and requirements for entry.   

You could receive admissions responses in 4-6 weeks, depending on the program.  Popular programs include OWLS, APCE, and technical communication, but there are many options available! 

Item 3: Technical Communication Program - Christopher Dayley, Associate Professor

Great option for TXST staff!  30 credits, asynchronous, non-thesis option.  Applicable for several industries. Program launched in 1999.  There are a few service-learning classes.   

The internship (ENG 5312) could be a class project such as editing a literary magazine but has the possibility to change in the future to do it within one's own department or other organization.

Item 4: Staff Education Development Leave and Academic Release & Tuition Support - Danielle Waddell, Training Specialist, HR 

Education policies and benefits are available for full-time, benefits-eligible employees  

Paid class release time, designated tuition waived, certain fees waived.  No limits! 

Paid class release time, full tuition and fees waived. This has an application process, selection by President’s Cabinet, and a service commitment. Available for two consecutive long semesters; four total in TXST lifetime.

    • New ERP vendor will be Workday! The current timeline is listed in the email after TSUS Board approval.  Implementation for rollout is slated from January 2027 through 2031.

Benefits Open Enrollment Dates: June 22 – July 24 

Staff Council will not have an online meeting option in July.  Council will be meeting in-person for our retreat with incoming members. 

New Food Vendor: Aramark – webinar happening today at noon.
