State of Texas State Address Announcement – Holly Hirsch
Friday, January 23, 2026 – In-Person at the LBJ Grand Ballroom, Watch Parties in LBJ Ballroom and Alkek Teaching Theater. Online viewing is also available – link to be sent next week. Celebration afterward with snacks and beverages. A recorded option will be available later.

Child Development Center Overview – Di Fontenot
The CDC has been on-campus for more than 30 years. Capacity for approximately 100 children in 9 classrooms. Occasionally, we have a school-aged class in the summer, subject to space and staff availability. The CDC follows the University calendar with minimal exceptions for training days. Expansion has always been a priority, but there continue to be challenges.
The majority of children are from faculty and staff, but it is open to the community. If working to expand in conjunction with the city, it would be expanding for both on-campus and community members.
The waitlist time depends on the age of the child. Under 2 has the longest waitlist.
